Description
Bloom Between the Lines is a tribute to resilience, knowledge, and the quiet persistence of ideas.
At the center of the piece, a stack of historically challenged books becomes both foundation and offering, titles that have endured censorship, fear, and resistance. From their pages, flowers emerge. Not delicately, but insistently. The message is clear: stories do not disappear simply because they are silenced.
Each book and bloom was sketched and burned directly into the wood before selective color was added to the florals. The natural grain and live edges remain visible, grounding the work in material honesty while allowing the imagery to speak symbolically. The contrast between darkened wood and softened color invites closer looking and longer reflection.
This is a one-of-a-kind artwork created for readers, thinkers, and those who understand that ideas, once rooted, continue to grow.
