- An exclusive pep talk to get you back in the game
What I Do When I Feel Stuck
Creativity isn’t a constant flow—it ebbs and shifts. When I hit a creative block, I step back and reset. Some of my go-to strategies include:
- Changing my environment – A walk outside or rearranging my workspace can shift my perspective.
- Trying something new – Experimenting with a different technique, style, or even a new tool can break the cycle.
- Giving myself permission to create badly – Sometimes, the pressure to make something “good” is what keeps me stuck. Making anything—without expectation—helps get the momentum back.
The key is to keep moving, even when it feels pointless. Inspiration returns when you make space for it.
How to Stay Motivated
Long-term motivation comes from routine and mindset, not waiting for the perfect moment. Here’s what helps:
- Setting small goals – A finished project feels overwhelming, but burning one small section at a time feels doable.
- Seeking out inspiration – Looking at other artists’ work, reading about creativity, or getting outside can refresh ideas.
- Remembering my “why” – Thinking back to what drew me to pyrography in the first place helps push through the tough days.
Motivation isn’t about feeling inspired all the time—it’s about building habits that keep you moving forward, even when inspiration is missing.

Keep creating, keep burning.
