I thought how fun would it be to create a wildlife pyrography series, and man, sometimes, I too am in awe of my skills. So let’s go through the experience with my creations: “Out of the Darkness”, “You Got Me Thinking”, “Can You Hear Me Now”, and “Hey You”. Patterns for this will be available in the Pyrography Academy.
“Out of the Darkness”: The Majestic Tiger
The tiger, was the first in this series and I wanted to capture the the tiger emerging from the shadows. In “Out of the Darkness”, the contrast between the dark, charred background and the tiger’s fiery fur with black and white stripes creates a sense of depth and mystery. It’s a reminder of the tiger’s elusive nature and the importance of protecting these endangered animals.
“You Got Me Thinking”: The Thoughtful Gorilla
Gorillas are known for their intelligence and emotional depth. In “You Got Me Thinking”, I wanted to capture the gorilla deep in thought, its eyes reflecting a world of wisdom and contemplation. The gorilla’s fur and the thoughtful expression on its face invite you to ponder of what he may be thinking about, because well it is indeed a mystery.
“Can You Hear Me Now”: The Striped Zebra
Zebras, with their distinctive black and white stripes, are often seen as symbols of individuality and communication. I didn’t want to just create a wood-burning of a Zebra and this “Can You Hear Me Now”, falls right in line with the wild life series. The zebra’s pattern and the mouth wide open to create a sense of movement and rhythm. I darkened the background so that it would stand out just a little bit more.
“Hey You”: The Graceful Giraffe
Giraffes are the gentle giants of the African savannah, known for their long necks and graceful movements. In “Hey You”, I focused on capturing the elegance and charm of these majestic animals. The giraffe’s long eyelashes and attentive gaze give it a sense of personality and presence, as if it’s reaching out to say hello. It took me a minute to name this one but I think “Hey you” does this justice.
Wildlife pyrography was a fun series to create, and challenged me in a new way to capture the essence of each animal.
